Bake Off raises almost £700
A group of Year 9 students have raised almost £700 for the chemotherapy unit at Stafford Hospital through cake sales. The students gave up their own time to bake cakes after school in the Food & Nutrition rooms on Wednesday 23rd October. The cakes were then sold to fellow students and staff on the following Thursday during break time.
The fund raising was also backed by Stafford Railway Building society who donated a generous £250 to the amount raised. Emma Parker, from Stafford Railway Building Society, joined the girls for their mammoth baking session. Emma has had personal experience of the hospital facilities following her own battle with cancer two years ago.
An impressive £375 was raised in cake sales taking the grand total to £675.
