Bumper run of Christmas events
Blessed William Howard Catholic High School is enhancing its reputation as a specialist Arts College with a jam packed calendar of events in the run up to Christmas.
Monday 9th December sees the school open its doors for the annual Christmas Concert. During this performance pupils will showcase a wide range of impressive musical skills including vocal and orchestral performances and numbers from soloists as well as smaller groups of musicians. Almost 100 students will take part in the show which starts at 7.15pm and seasonal refreshments of mince pies and mulled wine will be available during the interval thanks to the Parent Teacher Association.
The following day, Tuesday 10th December, a different group of students will be showcasing their skills during the Tinseltastic Dance Show at 7pm. The show will include classic and contemporary dance performances as well as some vocal acts from special guests. Refreshments will also be available.
To round the week off, the PTA has also arranged for Bead Creative to provide a make your own jewellery evening on Wednesday 11th December at 7pm. This is a chance for anyone who wants to get hands on and creative to make some special and truly unique Christmas gifts with expert advice and guidance. There is a small entry charge of £1.
“Our school has been awarded Arts Mark Gold three times by the Arts Council for outstanding provision in the arts. Our students are also shortly to feature prominently in two films being launched by Trinity College London further highlighting our commitment to the arts through Art Award which over 100 students have achieved this year at Bronze or Gold level. Events like the Christmas concert demonstrate this provision in a seasonal way. Every year I am impressed with the outstanding quality of the performances as well as the commitment our students and staff show in making them so.” commented Mr Dudley, Deputy Headteacher.
Tickets for the Christmas Concert and the Tinseltastic Dance Show are available on ParentPay for existing parents of children at the school or may be purchased from the school office for those without access to ParentPay.
