Excellent Academic and Vocational Results!

BWH Sixth Form Students Celebrate Excellent Academic and Vocational Results

Blessed William Howard students are celebrating excellent A level results.

This year, for Year 13 students, their A level and vocational exams were the first public examinations they have sat.

Mr Karl Brown, Principal, commented, “Students at Blessed William Howard have risen to the many challenges they have faced through the pandemic, which makes their achievements this year so well deserved and so special. I would like to congratulate the students on their fantastic achievements and thank the staff for their true dedication and commitment, which have enabled students to achieve their true potential.

It is difficult to pick out individual subjects, but results are especially favourable in Mathematics (including Further Mathematics), Biology, Philosophy and Ethics, History and Art and Design. We are delighted that all subjects have performed brilliantly. Success runs throughout the academic and vocational routes with all students able to access their next steps.”

The average grade achieved by all students across three A-Levels was a B-, which is a remarkable achievement. Other noteworthy results include the fact that 1 in 4 students achieved A*/A grades and over 80% of students secured A* to C grades. Overall, our students achieved 99% of grades A*-E.

Some of the top performers include:

  • Harvey Challinor achieved 4 A*s and will study Computer Science at Cambridge University
  • Dylan Smith who achieved 4 A grades and is going on to study Veterinary Medicine at Nottingham.
  • Edward Steele who achieved 3A*s and 2 A grades and is going on to study Mathematics and Physics at Warwick
  • Grace Wetton who achieved D*D* in Health and Social Care National Diploma and is going on to study Primary Education at Edge Hill

The school is particularly delighted that students, on average, achieved their target grades across all their subjects.

We wish all our Year 13 students the very best of luck in the future. Anyone interested in joining our Sixth Form, in September 2022, should contact Mrs Deakin on 01785 244236 ext. 204.
