Open Evening 2020
This year our event will be virtual due to the restrictions on mass gatherings and in the interests of public safety and your safety. A face to face open evening cannot take place this year.
Please note online registration is now closed. If you wish to register please email
email@example.com with your name, child's name and current school before midday on Thursday 17th September.
We would like to invite you to our Open Evening, which will be held virtually on 21st September 2020 at 6.00pm. This is for students who will start Y6 in September 2020 and will commence secondary education in September 2021. This may seem some time away, but you will be asked to choose a secondary school via Staffordshire School Admissions by 31st October 2020. We really hope that you select Blessed William Howard Catholic High School as your first choice.
This year the Open Evening will be delivered virtually via Google Meets. During this virtual session, which will include a presentation from key staff who will be part of your child’s transition to Blessed William Howard, we will deliver all the information you need. As part of this session, we will be offering a new question and answer session for parents. Along with 30 other parents, you will meet with either myself or one of our senior team and will have the opportunity to ask all the questions that you need to ask.
To ensure we are able to welcome all parents and their children, we will need to send out personal invites with a link to your email to enable you to access the Open Evening on your phone, laptop or computer. The invite has to be sent to the parent, guardian or carer who has parental responsibility (for a child who will be in Y6 in September 2020).
At Blessed William Howard Catholic High School, we welcome children from all faiths and those of none. Applications for all children are welcomed by us as a fully inclusive school.
At Blessed William Howard we offer a very special education centred around first class pastoral care. Our school is growing in popularity; in fact, we have had waiting lists in the past two years for places in Year 7. We are one of the very few schools who continued to teach children throughout lockdown. Our students continued to learn from home and our teachers continued to teach and mark their work from home.
I recognise, as the Principal and as a father of two children, the importance that children and their parents place on the transition from primary to secondary school. I do not want your child to miss out on a first class education at Blessed William Howard.
By completing this form, we will make sure that we can contact you directly and ensure you get all the information you need. In the meantime, I hope you and your family have a safe and restful break over the summer.
I look forward to meeting you in September.
Mr K J Brown, Principal
