Mission & Ethos
At Blessed William Howard Catholic High School, our mission is to Love God, People, Learning and Life. With Christ at our centre, we are a community where every person is known, listened to, and affirmed with love. We inspire a genuine love of learning, nurture inquisitive minds, and model the kindness, integrity, and faith that students will carry into the world. We form young people of character who are resilient, compassionate, and alive to injustice, equipping them with the confidence and wisdom to serve others generously, and the courage to make a positive difference.
Our Mission is summarised in the motto ‘Love of God, Love of People, Love of Learning, Love of Life.’
We aim to provide:
- Academic development – where everyone has something to offer and gifts and talents to explore are recognised.
- Pastoral care through the quality of our relationships.
- Moral development encouraged by a common set of expectations, beliefs and witness.
- A concern for values, especially respect and equality.
- A supportive atmosphere which is mindful of the underprivileged and the poor in spirit.
- Opportunities for our school community to grow in their self-regulation, inquisitive questioning, resilience and happiness.
- Spiritual development in a community which prays together.
